My winter skincare saviours.

I won't bore everyone with new year resolution ideas nobody, including myself, will keep.

But what better day than New Years Day to start a kickass new skincare routine?

*Hint* There is none.

I'm not saying this routine will work for you, but this is what works for me.

In winter my skin changes, just like everyones skin does. For me, my skin becomes super super dry. I can usually manage it with these products and routine..

Numero uno. (I think that might possibly be two different languages and terribly spelt but let's roll with it.) I like to do a quick cleanse and wipe off most of my makeup, especially the eyes! With the new Simple biodegradable cleansing wipes, biodegradable btw, gone are the ways of wipes destroying the earth. Simple is the only brand of makeup wipes that doesn't make my skin red raw. Not sure why that is but it works so that's great for me. They're really good at removing stubborn mascara too and I always think that's the hardest part of removing makeup!

I then go and cleanse with my Clarisonic Mia Smart and my Dermalogica Precleanse and then the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. Basically I want to get my face as clean as possible because I do often get chin spots and horrid blackheads on my nose and forehead. Grim, I will abolish these issues in 2020, I will!

When my face is squeaky clean I smother it in Dermalogica skin smoothing cream, best thing everrrrr. My skin literally just sucks this all up and feels so bloody good.

That's my skincare routine done until bed time.

Before bed, I obviously use the Dermalogica Sleep Cocoon because sleep vibes. Honestly this stuff makes me super tired but makes my skin feel so smooth when I wake up in a morning and I always feel like my skin looks really refreshed when I wake up.

I also smother my mouth with the Dermalogica nightly lip treatment. I tend to rub this all over my lips and mouth creases and pretty much everywhere on that area. I have noticed 0 chapped lips this year and I'm positive its down to this bad boy.

If my skin has been feeling particularly dry that day then before bed I'll use a tiny bit of the Dermalogica barrier defence booster. It's an oil so I don't like using it all the time and only use it on my nose as that is the driest area for me.

That is my skin routine during winter. I don't really use any products in a morning as I feel its always feeling nice from the evening before, on the odd occasion I will use the skin smoothing cream or my primer before applying my makeup but this isn't a daily thing.

Every Sunday I try have a pamper day/night and use the Dermalogica body wash and body lotion after a face mask session with the Alya Skin pink clay mask but if I don't get round to this it's not a big issue. (I like to feel like I have my own personal spa)

I've recently bought a facial sauna and microdermabrasion machine? Kit? not really sure what it's officially called and I'm hoping this will help tackle clogged pores and blackheads but I've not got around to using it yet. Super excited about them though! Hopefully they will answer my prayers and I will update you all with a review of that shortly!

That's a whole new day and a whole new blog post! If you have your own blackhead treatment that works, please send it my way!

Have a great 2020 and Happy New Year!

**Disclaimer: I was kindly gifted all Dermalogica skincare products and was also gifted the Alya Skin face mask. This DOES NOT change my honest opinion and I genuinely use these products every single day.**
